About this event

The ASIST workshop emphasizes suicide first-aid. It provides information on how to help a person at risk to stay safe and seek further help.

During this 2-day workshop you will learn how to:

  • Recognize invitations for help
  • Reach out and offer support
  • Review the risk of suicide
  • Apply a suicide intervention model
  • Link people with community resources

Applied Suicide Intervention Training is held over 2 consecutive days. Participants must attend both days. This is an interactive workshop. Registrants must participate the full 15 hours to receive certificates of completion

*All participants must be registered by their correct name and if any changes occur to the registration an update must be made 4 days prior to the workshop to CMHA by calling 807-345-5564.

FEE: $210.00 per person. Student: $100.00

Due to high enrolment, spaces will not be guaranteed until receipt of payment. Payment must be received within 5 business days of the workshop. Please provide a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or defer your registration. Last-minute cancellations, name changes or absences are non-refundable.

Name Policy: I understand and accept that by registering for the ASIST workshop that I am submitting the correct name of the participant, their email and contact info. If there are changes to the participants' registration prior to or during the workshop, please provide a minimum of 48 hours notice to request changes to CMHA at 807-345-5564 or cancellation charges will apply.

Student subsidies: We have 3 student subsidies available at $100.00 each, awarded on a first come, first serve basis and upon receipt of payment. To register online at the student rate, please contact (807)345-5564 for the discount code.
